Are you trying to lose fat or are you trying to lose weight?
This is an important question to ask yourself because you can lose weight by not eating but you'll lose muscle as well. You can lose fat by gaining weight in the form of muscle. Personally I'm trying to lose fat and lose weight but I'm going to try and add some muscle because it will help me keep the weight off and let me eat more food.
Right now I'm 5' 10" and almost 200 pounds. When you hear that you may think of athlete that's muscular, lean and in great physical condition. Unless that athlete is a darts player, bowler or cricket batsmen, you'd immediately realize that the athlete can be the same height and weight as a fat guy like me but be in excellent physical shape. The difference is in body fat vs. muscle.
