Baked Tortilla Chip Recipe

Created by Steve,

Description

It's not easy watching a football game at home without craving something salty, spicy and crunchy and these Baked Tortilla Chips can be a life saver.  The best thing is that they don't take long and you can spice them any way like so ladies add a little spice in your man's life and guys just enjoy your favorite flavorings.

Ingredients

At a glance
Makes
2-4 Servings

8 corn tortillas
A little cooking spray
1 tsp salt

Optional

  • Chili Powder
  • Smoked Paprika
  • Cayenne
  • Garlic Powder
  • Seasoning Salt
  • Lime Juice
  • Ground Cumin
  • Ground Coriander
  • Ground Caraway Seeds
  • Asian Five Spice Powder

Methods/steps

Preheat over to 400 degrees.  Lightly spray both sides of each tortilla with cooking spray.  Then stack the tortillas and cut into 4 to 6 triangles.  Place in a single layer on a baking sheet.  Sprinkle with salt and optional spices of your choice.  Use as much spice as you want but don't over do it at first.  Bake for 7 to 10 minutes.  After 5 or 6 minutes you want to pay close attention to them because depending on tortilla brand they can go from lightly browned to black in under 60 seconds.

Additional Tips

Some of Steve's favorite spice combos are:

  • Chili Powder and Lime Juice
  • Course Salt and Caraway (kind of like a weck roll)
  • Cumin and Smoked Paprika - served with any bean dip
