Ingredients

Makes
2 Sandwiches
2 Cuban rolls, whole grain sub rolls or a baguette split in half 1/4 lbs ham or turkey ham 1/4 lbs roast pork or roasted turkey 2-4 slices no fat or low fat white cheese 4-6 dill pickle slices (think Stackers) Yellow mustard. That's right. I wrote yellow mustard.
Methods/steps
Split each roll in half sandwich style. Spread on some yellow mustard. Layer with ham, roast pork, pickle slices and cheese. You can add more mustard if you like but one layer is enough for me. Top each sandwich.
If you have a sandwich press then use it as directed. If not, put each sandwich on a hot griddle or in a pan. Medium to medium low heat is best. Smash it down by pressing another pan on top of the sandwiches and weight it down with a large can of beans or a brick from the garden. After a couple of minutes flip the sandwich and smash it down again.
When the sandwich is golden brown and the cheese it melted server because these things are great.
Additional Tips
It's best to allow the ingredients to warm to room temperature before making the sandwich to ensure that everything is warm and melted inside. If time doesn't allow that just put the meat on the griddle or in the pan as it's starting to heat up. When the pan is almost ready put the meat in the sandwich and away you go.
