Roasted Green Beans

Description

This is one of the top 10 things that you should try on this site.  These simple green beans become smoking, chewy and more flavorful then you probably thought possible.  You can also serve them as Schezuan green beans, tapas or as finger food by using one of the variations mentioned here.

Ingredients

1 pound green beans - ends trimmed
1-2 tsp olive or canola oil
Salt and pepper to taste

Methods/steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees.
  2. Mix the beans with the oil and seasonings and place on a baking sheet.  Roast for 10-12 minutes until nicely charred.  Then flip and roast for 10-12 minutes more.

Additional Tips

These are fantastic just like they are but you can also serve them with a lowfat veggie dip such as the low fat aioli mentioned here.
