I want to eat like a guy but not be a fat guy. My name is Steve and I'm an average guy that is always hungry. Now that I have turned 40, I'm beginning to turn into a fat guy. I think about food most of the day. While I'm enjoying my first cup of coffee, I'm already thinking about what I want for dinner and I haven't even eaten breakfast yet. I'm also the guy who knows where all the best "all-you-can-eat" places are in town. I grew up with a father who enjoyed cooking and eating. He made some fantastic meals and I never once even thought about how many calories were in the meal or if there were too many fats and starches. Everything I ate, I just burned off anyway, so I just simply enjoyed eating whatever I wanted. That lasted until I turned 40 and then my body began to change. At first, I was in denial that I was getting older and rapidly packing on the pounds. I love food entirely too much that the thought of eating nothing but tofu, soy, raw vegetables, and fruits, was depressing. What guy would want to live off of soy noodles, celery sticks, and grapefruit 3 times a day? Forget that. I'm going to eat like a guy should eat. I created this site because I know I need to learn to make better food choices. I reached a point where I realized that if I eat all the bacon cheeseburgers I want, I'm going to have a heart attack before I reach retirement. At the same time, living on a raw vegetable diet isn't very appealing to me. I need to find that happy medium where I can indulge my love of food without packing on the pounds and increasing my risk for disease. I'm finding ways to enjoy eating hearty meals while still losing the weight and now you can too! |
